My heart, my voice!

Welcome to Ruminating With Maya.  This blog has been in the making for more than twenty-two years.  Years ago I dared to share my dream of writing with a friend I trusted with my truth.  His response  “why do you think what you have to say matters” devastated me.  I made a big mistake in the moments following his inquiry.  I packed away my dream of writing with the belief that what I had to say did not matter.  For the next twenty-two years I studied, read, added to my toolkit, and kept my dream to myself thinking if I made myself better one day someone would care.  All my efforts were dedicated to becoming someone with an opinion that matters.  To become someone others want to hear and to ruminate with over coffee.

Well, in this moment I recognize that my voice should be heard.  I can share what is in my heart.  Darn it,  if not one other person takes a moment to read what I have to say, my voice still does matter.  If I honor my story by speaking it into the Universe, I have succeeded in making a difference in my corner of this grand space we call Mother Earth.

I chose the blog title Ruminating with Maya because I love the idea of “thinking deeply about something”.  I hope you join me in pondering, mulling over, and considering topics that I find germane in the moment.

I cannot promise that you and I will have the same opinion about topics presented within this blog, but I commit to being respectful and open to differing viewpoints.  I ask for your indulgence in advance because I am human and prone to have human moments.  I pray that I recognize those moments and acknowledge them accordingly.

Let’s ruminate together!
