Quick question, when did we as a nation start to see such a marked decrease in simple social graces such as excuse me and I am sorry?
I am on an airplane and have been bumped, pushed, and prodded by every possible piece of luggage, elbow, and purse.
One guy literally shoved by me to open the overhead bin two rows ahead of me without an introduction, which was necessary because for a quick moment we were quite intimate!
My goodness people I know we are carting everything including the kitchen sink onto planes now, which means we will bump the people sitting in the aisles. So as a result use simple social niceties like EXCUSE ME AND I AM SORRY! They go a long way towards easing the tension of travel which is already high after navigating TSA.
Yep, I am sitting in an aisle seat right now and just got bumped by the tenth oversized purse on the plane.
Ok, rant over!!!!

Maya, you have put your finger on something that has been bothering me! I also was sitting in an aisle seat a few days ago…I felt something odd and realized a man standing in the aisle was spilling his coffee onto me. I jumped up and yelped, but he ignored me and continued on to claim his seat. I was left with a ruined sweater and a bad attitude. It’s frustrating!
It saddens me that we lack care for our fellow man. He should have offered to pay for dry cleaning or apologized. It starts with us speaking up in defense of what is basic human decency.
